Hiding Places
February 6, 2007
Most of us don’t have wads of cash lying around the house, but we all have some valuables (maybe jewelrey or cufflinks) and some cash (from the sweet poker tourny win); where is the most practical place to hide them? PFAdvice Blog published an interview with a burglar, to sum it up:
- They are looking to steal and probably won’t leave until they have found something
- They want toget out ASAP
- A decoy will cost you a few bucks but hopefully save in repair costs and the real stash
- Kids toys may be a good hiding place (just make sure the kids don’t steal it)
- Don’t hide your stash in something that the burglar might steal (e.g. electronics)
I find that at times I have close to a thousand dollars in my car (navigation, bluetooth headset, mp3 player) I of course never leave them in plain site, but am always on the lookout for a good hiding place in the car.
- Tissue box
- Under the spare tire
